Success with Warwickshire training

Success with Warwickshire training

Nearly 30 Master Gardeners gathered last weekend for top-up training at Hill Close Gardens.

Volunteers chatted about intricacies of watering and looking after soil – tailored by advice requested by the households they  mentor to grow food, as well as the community groups, offices,  and other places Master Gardeners spread the food growing message.

We also heard from Master Gardener Lucy Bishop about her community food growing, and local resident Paula Fetcher who lead a tour around the restored Victorian pleasure gardens.

The day finished by swapping ideas for best Master Gardener-ing in schools, community gardens, households and more. We really want to make the local programme as good as possible and these training days, and lots of communication besides, underpins the great work of volunteeers.

Hi, I am an almost organic gardener and have been gardening for about 30 years. I would love to get involved in helping and inspiring others to grow their own food in their own garden.
